Grilling Geek Spices didn’t start with a business plan. It started in the kitchen, with a guy trying to impress the girl he was falling for.

From the first date, Josh was cooking from scratch. Chicken fettuccini alfredo made a lasting first impression. A few months later, he proposed with a plate of homemade fajitas seasoned with a six-ingredient blend he mixed himself. She said yes right there in the kitchen, and flavor became part of their family story.

As the kids came along, they became the official taste testers. Every blend still has to pass two tests before it hits the shelf. The kids have to love it, and the wife has to approve it. If either one gives a thumbs down, it goes back to the drawing board.

That’s where “Kid Tested and Wife Approved” comes from. It’s not a slogan. It’s how every blend gets made.

The all-natural part started getting real when his mom was diagnosed with cancer and had to clean up her diet. At the time, nothing on store shelves fit the bill, so Josh made his own blends from scratch. That care still lives in everything we make today.

When she passed, Josh made a promise. He would find a way to share that same love and flavor with others. In 2016, Grilling Geek Spices was born with a stainless steel bowl, a whisk, and a heart full of purpose.

The ingredients are simple. No MSG. No preservatives. No fillers. Nothing you need a degree to pronounce. Since Josh doesn’t have one, he doesn’t think his customers should need one either.
